The diving specialties are designed to serve the diver in two main ways. One is to improve the knowledge and the ability to focus on a specific topic that interests the diver; And the second, to continue towards advanced courses such as Dive Master course and Instructors course.
Diving specialties are a rich world that enables a deeper understanding of the diving world by learning about topics of particular interest to you. During the courses and the learning, the divers will acquire different skills which will expand the knowledge, abilities, and possibilities of action in different underwater situations.
List of specialties in our club:
Navigation Specialty - you will get tools and information to know how to navigate by natural and artificial objects and, of course, using a compass, in new dive sites or sites with low visibility. In addition, divers will be exposed to additional accessories such as pulleys, SNB, ropes, flashlights and more. A diver who controls the techniques of navigation will remain calm and relaxed from entering the water until he exits the water.
Deep Specialty - In recreational diving, the highest depth is 40 meters. In the Deep Specialty course, you will acquire the knowledge necessary to plan a deep dive in a safe and correct manner, and to recognize all the limitations and dangers of deep diving. Deep dives open up new dive sites to a maximum depth of up to 40 meters.
Night Specialty - In night specialty you will learn about the difference between night and day in the underwater aspect, and in the safety aspect as a diver. You will learn about the dangers, the underwater life, the behavior of a group during a night dive, and work with lanterns, agreed signs and more. Given these changing factors, the divers knew how to plan and approach night dives in a confident and enriching way. Night dives are the most beautiful and fascinating dives!
Buoyancy Specialty - Buoyancy is the key to everything in diving! Without buoyancy, the divers expose themselves, their partners and the environment to danger. During the buoyancy training, the trainees will be given various tools to improve body positions, different swimming styles, a sense of comfort in the water and more. We see this specialty as a "mandatory" specialty for every diver.
Shipwreck specialty - shipwrecks always attracted the crowd of divers. History, the mystery, and the embedded object itself are a small part of what attracts the world's divers to visit shipwrecks. During the course, the divers will learn about access routes, signs, weak points of the wreck, hazards and more. Shipwreck specialty gives the diver the qualification to penetrate to the heart of the ships and the embedded objects.
NITROX Specialty - Nitrox is a rich air mixture limited to 40% oxygen. Diving with Nitrox allows you to dive a longer bottom time without decompression and is perceived as a healthier dive. However, diving with Nitrox exposes the diver to new dangers, and you will learn about it at the specialty itself. Diving with Nitrox is recommended for every dive, especially during concentrated diving days.
Search & Recovery Specialty - In Search & Recovery Specialty The divers will have the knowledge and skills to search for objects and flood them to the surface. This is a specialization that requires endurance for underwater work; And in return, the diver will receive one of the most important tools - the ability to search and recover objects. It is impossible to know when a diver will be hit by searching or recovering, this is a very important tool!
Ecological reef Specialty - Most divers will testify that they are diving for underwater marine life. In an Ecological reef Specialty, divers will be exposed to different forms of life, lead research, study the influence of man on the sea and its residents, and especially get a real idea of the marine environment. The Ecological Reef Specialty was built by the club's mentor, Naama Kochman, who holds a BA in marine biology.
Diving Computer Specialty - SDI believes that every diver, from the newest to the oldest, has to dive and plan diving using a dive computer. In computer specialty, the divers will undergo dives in which they will plan the dive using a computer and recognize all its characteristics. The use of dive computers promoted the world of diving to a much greater experience than the dimming of old-fashioned tables.
Under Water Photography Specialty - Photography is a hobby of many people, but underwater photography is many times more challenging than on the land. In the Under Water Photography Specialty, you will acquire the dishes to get the fish out of the water when they are healthy and beautiful. Underwater photography takes the hobby of diving into new and spectacular districts.
